Swedish Massage

Swedish Massage is a very relaxing and therapeutic style of bodywork. It combines oils with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation. The benefits from this type of bodywork are wide-ranging and include relief from aches and pains, decreased stress levels in the body, enhanced mental clarity, improved appearance and greater flexibility.

60 Min - $80 / 90 Min - $110

Acupressure is based on one of the most ancient principles of healing- that simply touching a specific point on the body will release stress and improve health in the body.  In an acupressure session, I apply firm pressure directly to these points on your body, which relieves your muscle tension and improves your circulation.  This simple and powerful technique has been shown to be very effective in treating headaches, backaches, and even insomnia.

60 Min - $80 / 90 Min - $110

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage is a form of body work that aims to relieve tension in the deeper tissue in the body.  Deep Tissue Massage is highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering issues. Due to the nature of deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to assure comfort levels.  Keep in mind that soreness is common after treatment and plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

60 Min - $80  / 90 Min - $110

Traditional Thai Massage

Thai massage is more energizing and rigorous than most other forms of massage therapy. I use my hands, knees, legs and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like postures and stretches. No oil is applied, and you are fully dressed during the session in comfortable clothing.  A single Thai massage session will help you to release stress and relieve pain, and help you function more effectively at work and home.

60 Min - $80  / 90 Min - $110

Energy Work/Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese for of energy work that cleanses and balances the energy system in the body.  As a result, the body's natural self-healing system mechanisms strengthen, helping to establish optimum health.  During a session, I work directly with your energy field to remove blockages, detoxify your system, and restore your vital life force energy.  Reiki utilizes a direct laying of hands to conduct the necessary energy forve between us.  The benefits of Reiki range from the release of habitual mental/emotional stress to alleviating chronic pain.

30 Min - $50 / 60 Min - $80

Cupping Therapy

Cupping Therapy is a branch of Traditional Chinese medicine in which suction through the cups is used to address problem areas in the muscle/fascia. The negative pressure created by the suction draws fresh blood into the area and increases circulation there and releases cellular debris that is then disposed of naturally by your lymphatic system. In this process, discoloration of the skin may occur depending on the severity of blockage but will go away after the session in a few hours while some could take a few days to dissipate. It is relatively pain free and a very effective form of release and treatment.

About Brookstown Wellness

Brookstown Wellness was founded in 2015 by Ashley Holdren, lead therapist. Ashley established Brookstown Wellness with the intent to provide holistic, goal-driven and easily accessible care for her clients. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge with her community, and teaching others the many options of maintaining their own health and wellness through bodywork.

Ashley has an extensive background in fitness, and as an athlete herself, she has pursued martial arts, gymnastics, Crossfit, weight lifting, swimming, obstacle course racing and personal training. This broad range of experience provides her with a level of understanding in her clients not found at a traditional spa or office. In completing over 100 hours of continuing education after her licensure, Ashley is a life-long learner and always seeks the latest research to better her understanding of anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology. She has since become a NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider herself in order to help other therapists who wish to pursue a career in sports medicine similar to hers.

An injury in 2013 left her in chronic pain and unable to exercise. As a mother of 2, her health and wellness was crucial to her family’s success. Through the help of a local massage therapy program, in which she would later enroll and graduate, she found a holistic path to healing that relieved her pain quickly with no medication and taught her ways to take care of herself going forward that allowed her to continue exercising and meeting her fitness goals.

After graduation she immediately opened her practice, offering multiple modalities to her client base across the Triad. To date, she has partnered with multiple fitness facilities locally, providing wellness counseling and bodywork to thousands of members, their families and friends. Her blend of therapeutic massage, assessment, deep tissue, sports massage, cupping, and traditional Thai massage allow for a care plan that fosters healing and overall wellness moving forward.

Ashley was recommended to me when I moved to Winston over 2 years ago. She does great deep tissue work and I've seen enough benefits that I now go regularly every three weeks. The only bad thing is they are over too soon.

I can't say enough about how incredible Ashley is and how much she has enriched my life. Her ability to tune in to my body is unmatched by any other therapist I've had. She has been my massage therapist for two years and carried me through both shoulder surgeries enabling me to get back in the gym ahead of most. Super easy to schedule - quick responses via text which is super appreciated by someone like me because I'm always on the go. I literally send my dad, elderly mother-in-law, son and numerous friends to her with zero hesitation knowing they're in the best hands possible.

Ashley takes time to understand the cause of certain issues you may have, rather than only treating the symptoms. Hands down the best person for bodywork around! She knows when to use specific techniques and has a deep understanding of them!
